Baseline Survey for Sub-Project Level Projects under PACT (Under Second Call )

Project Description

The baseline survey is to assess/establish a pre-intervention snap shot against key project indicators for monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment in the future.The base line survey focused on collecting the data related to the key performance indicators which were set out in the results framework. The survey provided baseline information on project indicators for measuring project effectiveness and project impact , provide demographic, socio-economic features, nature and extent of participation in agriculture commercialization processes and activities of participants (PACT’s Current grant recipients),provide reliable information on productivity, volume, and sales of key agricultural commodities and corresponding major value chain participants with their competence, linkages with other value chain participants, comparative advantages, strengths and constraints.

Assignment Description

The baseline survey was focus on collect the data related to the key performance indicators which are set out in the results framework. • Collected baseline information on project indicators for measuring project effectiveness and project impact after the completion of the project. • Collected demographic, socio-economic features, nature and extent of participation in agriculture commercialization processes and activities of participants of PACT's current grant recipients. • Conducted Baseline Survey in 25 Project Districts, in 16 Thematic Areas and collected 4646 HH Survey Questionnaires • Prepared, translated questionnaires in 16 Thematic Areas (Vegetable, Cereal Seed, Honey, Fish, Ginger, Floriculture, Meat Processing, Poultry, Milk Processing, Mushroom, Animal Feed, Onion, Potato, Citrus and Banana etc.) • Update indicators at the district aggregate level for the PACT identified commodities • Provided information on productivity, volume and sales of key agricultural commodities and corresponding major value chain participants with their competence, linkages with other value chain participants, comparative advantages, strengths and constraints • Provided basic data and information for developing Value Chain Development Plans (VCDP) for selected commodities at regional and national level in the future. • Suggested changes/amendments in project result framework
