Project Description

The project under the Rural Electrification, Distribution and Transmission Project (ADB Loan No: 1732 NEP(SF)) was to assist NEA with establishment of distribution district profit centers, to establish profit center accounting procedures and employee incentives for improved performance and efficiency through Computerised Financial MIS development Strategy and Computerisation of Customer Billing System. The major works under the project was (i) MIS Strategy Development to identify NEA’s accounting computerization and MIS Needs, (ii) Develop Tender Documents and evaluate tenders for Billing Systems, (iii) assist NEA in System Acceptance testing and supervision of implementation, and (iv) conduction of Study Tour to assist NEA first hand to view system proposed by the shortlisted firms.

Assignment Description

Assistance in MIS Strategy Development • Assisted in developing detailed tender Documents for MIS systems/computer billing requirements hardware and software based on System Analysis and in line with MIS Strategy for NEA • Assisted in detailed evaluation of tender documents and selection of firms • Assisted in the Study Tour conducted to view the systems of the successful bidder from India • Assisted in the supervision of MIS/Computer Billing System development and pilot testing
