Cost Analysis of Behavior Change Interventions for HIV Prevention and Care Program

Family Health International (FHI) Nepal has been working in Nepal to curtail the spread of HIV/AIDS since 1993 with the support of United State Agency for International Development (USIAD). In Nepal FHI has programmatic interventions and expertise in different areas. One of those is Behavior Change Intervention (BCI). Thirteen implementing agencies have been conducting BCI for HIV prevention in different parts of Nepal, mainly focusing along the corridor of East-West Highway (Terai belt). So the main objective of this project is to cost analysis of BCI for HIV Prevention and Care Program.

Assignment Description

Full use of available and applicable documents, reports, software, and other information for execution and completion of the proposed services in accordance with accepted professional standards and sound practices. • Focus on present and future perspective of FHI-Programs on HIV/AIDS and requirements of BCI activities. • Use of previous cost analysis report of Trinetra Community Development Foundation Nepal prepared by the previous Consultant. • Full use of outputs of two-week exercise and workshop on cost analysis. • Possible alternatives n cost analysis and PIF indicators to increase efficiency, cost effectiveness and quality of work. • Refinement of cost data input and redesigning of cost analysis worksheet in order to have sufficient flexibility in use and verification. • Optimal combination of data collection, processing, reporting and storage formats based on practicality, FHI's requirements, and sound professional judgment. • Close contact and effective co-ordination with FHI and with all implementing Agencies. • Use of participatory and interactive approach, wherever possible. • Regular briefing to the FHI and concerned personnel on the progress of the studies/jobs and problems connected thereto.
