Design Procedural Guidelines for Irrigation Systems in Hills and Valleys

Project Description

Objective of the consulting services was to prepare a simple, brief, and workable irrigation design procedural guidelines for Irrigation Systems in Hills and Valleys of Nepal.

Assignment Description

Reviewed available design manuals, study & research reports of irrigation systems • Identified various types of possible irrigation component-structures normally required for hill irrigation systems, • Prepared stepwise procedures with detail methodology for the design of irrigation infrastructure in hill/irrigation system for all components of structures identified above • Prepared acceptable design criteria/approach for the estimation of hydrological data, diversion requirements, selected various hill irrigation support structures and slope protection and improvement methods/works with necessary illustrations. • Organized in the presence of concerned DOI officials at DOI building in Jawalakhel to discuss the work done by the Consultant as required by the scope of the project.
