Detail Engineering Survey, Design and Report Preparation (DPR) of Madheshi Sahid Marg (East Boarder of Sarlahi to West Boarder of Rautahat District)

Project Description

The Detail Engineering Survey, Design and Report Preparation (DPR) of Madhesh Province, Madheshi Sahid Marg (East- West Highway)” provides the basis for the approval of a project. It shall be a full technical and economic Detail Engineering Survey, Design and Report Preparation (DPR) designed to enable the concerned ministry and the NPC to appraise the project before giving approval. The Proposed Madhesh Province, Madheshi Sahid Marg (East- West Highway)” should passage between Mahendra Rajmarg (East-West Highway) and Postal Highway through almost 48 Local government (Palikas) and its settlements of Madhesh Province. The Total Length of Road is 307.36 Km.

The main objective of the consulting services is to conduct a detail engineering survey of the proposed road, prepare detail design and cost estimate, data collection for social, environmental, safety and design purposes, carry out economic analysis and associated tasks necessary to produce a DPR suitable for guiding the investment from the Province government with Intermediate Lane Standard (i.e. 7.0 m carriage way, 0.6 m clear width line drain, 2 m shoulder on either side on non-settlement area and 0.5 m either side on settlement area) for the construction of the road.

The Road section under the assignment includes:
• Sarlahi to Rautahat Section: 47.130Km (Project Cost: NPR 1,649,370,648.92)
• Rautahat to Bara Section : 26.408 Km (Project Cost: NPR 3,155,483,033.31 )

Assignment Description

Desk Study/ Review of Existing Road • Carried out detailed feasibility study of the Road, Road Inventory Survey and Traffic Survey/Study • Carried out detailed Topographic Survey along the road • Carried out DGPS Survey, Land use Survey, Constriction Material Survey, Market Survey • Preparation of hydrological map, geological map, topo maps, index map, land use map etc. • Conducted environmental study of the road corridor and preparation of Environmental Management Plan • Geological Study of the road corridor/ Hydrological and meteorological Study of the road • Geotechnical Investigation including DCP Test, Quarry Site Investigation and Material Testing • Preparation of Social and Environmental Screening Study • Detailed Design of the road with Asphalt Pavement (Sarlahi to Rautahat Section: 47.130 Km and Rautahat to Bara Section: 26.408 Km) • Design of other Structures such as cross Drainage Structures culverts, causeway, box, culvert, multi cell box culvert, Longitudinal Drains, Retaining Structures, Road furniture, Road Safety Structures • Design of Bio-engineering works • Preparation for detail cost estimation and BOQ • Field verification after completion of design • Preparation of Construction Drawings and Reports, quality assurance plan • Preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the defined road corridor.
