Detail Feasibility Study and Design of Falakhu Khola Hariyali Irrigation Sub-Project

Project Description

The project lies in the Nuwakot district and will provide year round irrigation facility to 35.5 ha. of agriculture land. At present, there is only temporary diversion of water to existing canal. With the implementation of the project, it will give the diversion structure permanency. The source of the river is Falankhu Khola and is perennial. The main canal length is 4.2 km. The Water User Group does have strong say in the operation and maintenance of the system.

Assignment Description

The services provided in feasibility study of irrigation projects included were; Engineering survey of main canal, geological survey of main canal, socio-economic survey of command area, environmental study, cross-drainage survey and its location, canal network planning and development, engineering analysis, design of headwork, main/branch canal & irrigation and drainage structures, socio-economic analysis, formulation of irrigation and agriculture development plan, engineering cost estimate, economical and financial analysis with and w/o project, reports and drawing preparation.
