Tribhuvan Rajpath (Thankot – Raxual – TRP) 181 Km Road was constructed in period of A.D. 1953 to A.D. 1956 by Indian aid. Presently Naubise – Thankot sector is only one Road to transport food grains, fuel and other materials into Kathmandu. Blockage of this sector even for one day creates lot of problem in capital. For continue flow of traffic in capital this Road sector must be kept in good condition. Presently more than 2500 vehicles per day (two ways) pass through this section. The study areas under present scope of works falls within a section of Tribhuwan Rajpath from Km 10+000 to Km20+000 within Thankot to Naubise area. As per the specific site for which the detailed work has to be carried out after through examination is at Km 19+300 Km, Sikre Khola. These areas under the study are the part of flat Mahabharat Range of Mountains in the Chandragiri formation around the Kathmandu Valley. The main traffic inflow to the Kathmandu Valley is through this section to date. Geographically, the section is located 850 9′ to 850 13′ latitude and 270 41′ to 270 44′ longitude. The elevation ranges from around 1000 to 1550 m amsl.
