Detail Survey and Design of Chatara – Beltar – Gaighat – Katari Road (Ch 10+000 to Ch 17+000)

Project Description

The road lies in the Udaypur district and intends to connect Chatara to Beltar, Gaighat and Katari. The assigned task was limited to Ch 10 + 000 to Ch 17 +000 from Jorbato to Jogini Khola. The route passes through Seti Khola, Rampur, Krishi Sewa Kendra and Murti Khola. The road runs nearly parallel to Mahendra Rajmarg in the foothills and intends to give access to people to nearby market such Chatara, Dharan etc. The road crosses through medium bridges of 2 nos. of spans 30 & 40 m. The road has been designated as Water Bound Macadam, District Road in accordance with traffic flow and serviceability with formation width of 6.0 m, carriageway width of 2.5 m and 1.25m shoulder width on either side.

Assignment Description

The services provided in detailed survey and engineering design of road projects included were; Running of closed traverse and fly leveling for the establishment of control stations, bench marks and reference points, fixing of road's centerline, cross-section and carrying out detailed ground survey, preparation of detailed topo-maps, material survey and testing, drainage and hydrological study, engineering design, calculation, preparation of plan, longitudinal profile and cross sections, pavement design, side drains, cross drainage structures, retaining structures, slope stabilization, rate analysis, quantity and cost estimates and preparation of reports and documents.
