In pursuance of the Government’s objective of development of railway as an alternative mode of transport in Nepal, Ministry of Physical Planning and Works, Department of Railways, has decided to carry out detail survey and design of the Simara- Tamsaria section of proposed Mechi- Mahakali railway line with design speed 160 km/hr. The proposed new railway line normally runs parallel to the East – West Highway. Simara and Tamsaria are small towns in Tribhuwan Rajmarg and Mahendra Rajmarg respectively are situated at 585 km and 471 km of the of the proposed Mechi –Mahakali railway alignment.
