Detail Survey and Design of Wamitaksar – Dhorpatan Road ( Khal – Jasti Khola Section)

Project Description

The Wamitakasr – Dhorpatan road is intended to connect Wamitaksar of Gulmi district to Dhorpatan of Dolpa District. The major sections of the road falls in Baglung district and follows the left bank of Badigad Khola. This detail survey and design is limited to Khal to Jasti Khola. The total road length is 6.5 kms. The road has been designated as District Road Class in accordance with traffic flow. The road is designed as WBM single lane, 6.0 road formation width, 3.5 m carriageway width and 1.25 m shoulder width. The alignment passes through steep hill terrain, this due to avoid an active landslide just after Khal. The road crosses a one medium bridge of 30 m span.

Assignment Description

The services provided in detailed survey and engineering design of road projects included were; Running of closed traverse and fly leveling for the establishment of control stations, bench marks and reference points, fixing of road's centerline, cross-section and carrying out detailed ground survey, preparation of detailed topo-maps, material survey and testing, drainage and hydrological study, engineering design, calculation, preparation of plan, longitudinal profile and cross sections, pavement design, side drains, cross drainage structures, retaining structures, slope stabilization, rate analysis, quantity and cost estimates and preparation of reports and documents.
