Trishuli Highway is one of the time immemorial north-south corridors of Nepal linking Kathmandu, the Capital City of Nepal with the Chinese Border at Kerung. Road Improvement and Development Project (RIDP) intends for upgradation/improvement works of this highway from Ranipauwa to Trishuli (Pipaltar) (total length 33.68 km).The proposed widening of Ranipauwa-Trishuli (Pipaltar) road can provide better transportation facilities to the road users, enhance the socio-economic activity of the influence area and generate employment opportunities. The upgrading work will render economic benefits in terms of savings in vehicle operating costs, time savings for passengers and goods in transit, and savings in road maintenance costs. The alignment passes through Ranipauwa, Patle, Jurethum, Lauke, Barahi, Pakhure, Tigaun, Amare, Chisapani, Anpchaur, Tandi Bridge and Pipaltar. The road spans along hilly/mountainous terrains of Nuwakot district. The climatic condition of the project area is sub-tropical. The overall objective of the Consultancy Services is to conduct detail engineering studies, design, drawings and report preparation for widening and upgrading of the existing Ranipauwa-Trishuli (Pipaltar) road stretch ((total length 33.68 km)) to double lane configuration in order to support execution of construction works and carry out detailed survey of the stated road; Prepare detailed inventory of remaining and completed works; Prepare detailed project report; Develop project implementation plan. The Total Project Cost is NRs. 1,496 million.
