Endline Survey for the Impact Evaluation of the Sunaula Hazar Din (SHD) Project

Project Description

The Sunaula Hazar Din (SHD) Project has envisaged to improve nutritional outcomes among children during their first 1000 days – that is, starting from the conception of the baby to two years of age – totaling approximately 1000 days.

The SHD program, a Community Action for Nutrition Project Impact Evaluation Program, supported by the World Bank, is implemented in 15 districts in the central terai and hills and the eastern terai and hills. The impact evaluation will cover all 15 districts. The Survey was implemented in selected 15 districts in 130 VCDs. The Survey will employ Questionnaires for collecting detailed data on anthropometrics and nutrition practices.

Assignment Description

Preparation, Translation and Finalization of Questionnaires sets • Preparation of Data Entry Format in Tablet (Electronic Data Collection using Survey CTO platform) • Pre-testing, and pilot testing of Questionnaire, Data Collection by use of Tablets using SurveyCTO platform • Training of Enumerators and Supervisors (40 Enumerators and Supervisors) • Anthropometrics measurement of children under 2 years and recording of daily intake practices. • Data collection for Rapid House Listing, Social Links. • Baseline Survey through Detailed Household Survey for 15 Districts in 130 VDCs, 3600 households – use of 40 Tablets for electronic Data Collection (use of Survey CTO application) • Conduction of Behavioral, 100 sets of games and conduction of Social Mobilizer Surveys • Delivery of clean data set and report on summary statistics • Details of the Survey are as follows: Survey Activities VDCs Remarks Rapid House Listing 130 Randomly select HH with children and pregnant women. Count all HH with children under 24 months as well as 25-48 months. Social Links while doing Rapid House Listing 100 Only for 100 VDCs with the behavior games Detailed Household Survey 130 Total 2950 HHs - 2500 HHs with child under age of 48 months (100 VDC x 25) - 450 HHs with child under age of 24 months (30 VDC x 15) Pregnant Women Survey 130 650 individual households surveyed (130 VDC x 5) Behavioral Games 100 100 sets of games (each set involve 8 adults playing 5 individual games)
