Project Description

Tourism plays a significant role in any country’s economy. It generates local employment, promotes the hospitality industry, and brings foreign exchange into the economy. Similarly quality education is an important aspect in the overall development of country through trained and skilled manpower to provide their services in the number of service areas.
• In this aspect, a study is required to analyze and prepare a business plan in developing the area in Kaun of Pokhara to either (a) a tourism place or (b) establishing an educational establishment

Assignment Description

Collection, review and analysis of reports, documents, data/information on tourism development and educational establishment especially in successful neighbouring countries of Asia/South Asia • Collect, review and analysis of data/information against demand and supply covering (a) tourist flow, and (b) educational established (schools, colleges, training institutes etc.) including future forecast of growth • Collect, review and analysis of Government sectoral policies (tourism, and educational), business plan, master plan, religion plans, district plans that reinforces the objectives of the study but with due care of data appropriates and utilization • Site visit to collect basic data/ information on present and future requirements (demand and supply aspects) for the (a) tourism development, (b) educational establishment • Study the current and potential market in relation to the development of (a) tourism development, (b) educational establishment including identifying products and package in both the study options. Further, the Consultants is too consider phasing of the potential options to enhance the profitability with optimal utilization of cash flow • Identify various services, infrastructure needed for attraction for tourism, and education establishment • Assess type, quality and quantity of existing infrastructure (civil, electrical and mechanical, telecommunication, water supply/waste treatment, waste disposal etc.) and prepare basic plans for improvement in the project area • Prepare general lay out site plan for the given potential/viable alternatives under (a) tourism development, (b) educational establishment • Prepare conceptual architectural and civil engineering design and drawings for basic sample infrastructure models (roads, residential, institutional, administrative, parks/gardens, museums, library, hotels, restaurants, tourist information offices etc.) • Prepare general/tentative cost estimates for infrastructure for both the options and other services required • Conduct social assessment through rapid assessment methods and suggest way to integrate them within the proposed area or identify alternative options as suggested by the locals • Conduct rapid environmental assessment, identify potential impacts, and propose mitigation measures • Prepare operation and management options models and Conduct sensitivity analysis for both the options • Prepare financial and economic analysis and commercial viability and suitability of the project by comparing alternatives through economic and financial internal rate of return (EIRR and FIRR), benefit-cost ratio (B/C), net present value (NPV) and incremental NPV, etc. for both the options • Prepare business proposal based on project cost, capital investment, revenue collection, FIRR and profitability • Prepare phase wise implementation plan for both the options • Prepare Feasibility cum Business proposal Report to a market standard.
