Feasibility Study of Chisapani – Solta – Khairela Road

Project Description

The proposed road connects Chisapani to Khairela in Kailali District. The total length of the road is 124 km. The road obligatory pints are Badi Gaon, Solta, Ajinagare, Tamcho, Bardaina, Koltadi, Amalda, and Khaiyatal. The route follows the hilly terrain and in the beginning follows the right bank of Karnali river. The study showed the full length from Chisasapni to Khairela is not economically feasible ( B/C ratio 0.11), while the Chisapani to Solta section is feasible at B/C ratio of 1.18 with EIRR of 12.73%. The road gives an access to the people of the above mentioned localities to East-West highway and eventually to Nepalgunj, Tikapur and Dhangadi.

Assignment Description

The services provided in feasibility study of road projects included were; Engineering survey of alternative routes, geological survey and investigation, socio-economic survey of influence area, environmental study, traffic study, road network planning and development, engineering analysis, classification of road, preliminary design of road corridor, design standard, calculation costs like construction, vehicle operation and maintenance, rate analysis and cost estimates of alternatives, economical and financial analysis, selection of alignment out various alternative routes, reports and drawing preparation.
