GIS Mapping of Agricultural Resources and Potential Pocket Areas in CDP Districts and Conduction of GIS Training to CDP Officers

The specific objectives of the study are:
• To impart knowledge on application of GIS to integrate agricultural resources database,
• To identify potential pocket area of selected secondary crops in selected CDP districts
• To assess to existing physical resources in the districts for the use of agricultural planning and management
The assignment are divided in two phase (i) GIS mapping and (ii) GIS Training

Assignment Description

GIS Mapping • Mapping on high value secondary crops e.g. vegetables, fruits, oilseed crops, potato and lentil in selected 7 mid and far western districts and entering and updating the spatial and attribute data relate to this to the existing or new thematic layer • Prepare suitably map with classification e.g. high, moderate and low potential pocket areas for selected secondary crops based in the suitability classification • Prepare agricultural resources map that based on the thematic pal layer or coverage (Administrative, Population Distribution, Land use, Hydrology, Topographic, Road Network, Land Unit, Soil Texture, Agricultural Services Centres Market Centres etc.) and their attribute data as available • Setting and validating technical parameter of selected secondary crops and conduction of workshop for parameter validation • Field verification map in districts and check group reality as that with maps produced using GIS • Prepare GIS map and Report containing methodology, meta-data, High Quality Maps (Output) GIS Training: Conducted GIS training for 16 trainees.
