Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) is currently carrying out the 3rd wave survey for the Fourth Nepal Living Standards Survey (NLSS-IV). The NLSS-IV however does not contain the forest segment, thus the present survey intents to conduct forest survey that will collect data on people’s forest dependency; livelihoods and incomes from forests; threats to forest incomes and livelihoods; and basic household demographics. This survey data will be used by the World Bank team to conduct econometric analysis that provides in-depth understanding how forests contribute to household incomes in Nepal.
• Eventually, when the 3rd wave of the NLSS-IV is made publicly available, analysis on the relationship between forest dependency and poverty will also be undertaken
