Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) of various 3 roads under the Package no: DoR/GESU/337/072/73/017 (Re) • Kharjyang-Charpala-Gaudakot-Jubhung-Majuwa Road (37 Km) • Ratdanda-Musikot-Paudiamarae-Neta-Darling-Whangdi Road (36 Km) • Ridi-Rudrabeni-Bamitaksar-Daramkhola-Road (Aapchaur to Daramkhola Road) (20 Km)

Project Description

There proposed (i) Kharjhyang-Charpala-Gaudakot-Jhubung-Majuwa Road lies in Gulmi district of Province No.5. The length of the road is 37 km which passes through Gulmi Durbar and Chattrakot rural municipalities of Gulmi district. (ii)The Ratdanda-Musikot-Paudiamarae-Neta-Darling-Whangdi road is a feeder road category which lies in Gulmi district of province no.5. The length of the road is 36 km which passes through ward no. 2 of Isma Rural Municipality ward no 1, 2 & 3 of Musikot Municipality and ward no 1, 2&3 of Malika Rural Municipality of Gulmi district. (iii) The Ridi Rudreabeni-Bamitaksar-Daramkhola Road (Aapchaur to Daramkhola) road is a feeder road categoty which lies in Gulmi district of state no.5. The length of the road is 20 km which passes through ward 5, 6 and 7 of Musikot Municipality and ward 8 of Chandrakot RM of Gulmi district. The roads lies in hilly region.

Assignment Description

Conducted detail survey and investigation of the present physical, biological and socio-economic condition of the roads and its corridor. • Analyzed environmental implications / impacts of road widening • Identification of affected peoples with details including compensation and resettlement • Find out the positive or negative impacts on various environmental resources due to natural phenomenon and road-induced human activities during and after construction road project • Identified and recommended measures for minimizing environmental impacts from proposed construction by employing principles of avoidance, mitigation, and controls • Socio-economic survey through FGD and Household survey focusing on socio-environmental aspects • Identified the major issues that may result due to proposed works on the natural, physical and socio-economic and cultural and religious environment of the project area. • proposed practical and site-specific environmental mitigation and enhancement measures, prepared and implemented environmental monitoring plan for the project • Proposed IEE is sufficient for the proposed road project • Final IEE Report submitted and approved from Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT).
