Project Description

Bagmati Irrigation Project (BIP) which is located in Sarlahi District, gets its water supply from the Bagmati River through the Bagmati Barrage. Implementation of Bagmati Irrigation Project was started in BS 2035/36. One of the major components of this project was the construction of Diversion Headworks. During this implementation period the construction of diversion headworks was completed.

Assignment Description

The proposed scope includes the detailed study (Engineering Survey, Design and Cost Estimate) for modernization/rehabilitation of Canal systems (Branch, Distributary, Secondary/Sub-secondary, Tertiary systems) down to water course and Canal structures, Drains, Service roads etc. of present infrastructure developed area under BIP Phase I, Stage I in about 38,000 ha and detailed feasibility study of the possible extension area in about 7,600 ha under Phase I, Stage I (in sides and tail of presently developed systems).
