The World Bank has provided grant in the amount to Government of Nepal for Irrigation and Water Resource Management Project (IWRMP). The main theme of IWRMP is to improve irrigated agriculture productivity and management of selected irrigation schemes, and enhance capacity for integrated water resource management. IWRMP focuses on four inter-related project components; Component A: Irrigation infrastructures development and improvement; Component B: Irrigation management transfer reforms; Component C: Institutional and policy support; and Component D: Integrated crop and water management (ICWMP). Furthermore, the Component -D have divided into three sub-components viz.; (a) Integrated crop and water management; (b) Improvement of water distribution structures at field level; and (c) Investment support for community and productive assets. Altogether, 2113 sub-projects had been completed under Department of Agriculture (DOA) and Department of Irrigation (DOI) combining sub-projects both from Additional Financing to IWRMP and on-going IWRMP, under Component D. The review would be carried out on some samples of all communities types under the ICWMP and IWRMP additional Financing program area (approximately at least in 100 sub-project sites) that created and acquired assets under the project since its inception and up to the end of Fiscal Year 2009/10. The verification is carried out in accordance with the general principles and standards. Under Component D1 of Additional Financing for Irrigation and Water Resources Management Project, approximately US$ 6.8 million has been allocated for rehabilitation and improvements of farmer-managed small irrigation schemes and non-conventional irrigation technologies.
