Project Description

The objective of this assignment are:
• conduct a comprehensive survey of households and children, communities, schools and teachers; and
• Design a curriculum-based student learning assessment at the primary school level.

Assignment Description

Designed survey tools – household survey, community survey, school survey, teachers and students tests etc. • Pre-tested survey tools in two districts • Revised and fine-tuned survey tools based on the results of pre-test • Translation and publication of survey tools • Prepared survey manual for the supervisors and enumerators • Training to supervisors and enumerators • Carried out household survey (31701 households) in 300 communities of mountain, hills and terai districts • Accomplished survey in 300 communities using community survey questionnaire • School survey (300 schools) • Teacher test (295) and classroom observation (158). • Student learning assessment (grade 1, 3, 5; subjects – English, Nepali, Math and TIMMS test to grade 5 Math and Science; more than 9,800 students and Achievement test 26,000 take the test) • Data entry, consistency checking, cleaning and processing • Delivery of clean datasets and report on summary statistics
