Preparation of Detailed Engineering Report Including Soil Investigation of 68 Specified Monasteries (Package No.: NRA-CLPIU-EMRP-EP-03-077/078)

Project Description

The main objective of the assignment is to carryout Geotechnical Soil Investigation and prepares design, drawing, estimate and specifications of specified monasteries. For individual monasteries, design shall be site specific either Framed Structure or Masonry type or any other suitable design based on geographic location, Age of monasteries, availability of construction materials and other factors like transportation, availability of funds etc. (Considering Ancient Monument Preservation Act, 2064 if needed).

Assignment Description

Task 1: Geotechnical Soil Investigation: The Consultant had conducted geotechnical soil investigation of specified monasteries and prepared soil test report/ geotechnical investigation report of specific sites; Carried out desk study collecting all data, maps and information relevant to geology of the proposed site; Carried out surface exploration and identified type of foundation depth below the ground level at which the foundation is to be placed with allowable bearing pressure at the foundation level; Dig adequate number of exploration pits at various sites adequate for proper design of the monasteries; Collect undisturbed sample and conduct following tests viz: Grain Size Distribution (Dry and Wet Sieve Method), Specific Gravity, Moisture Content, Atterberg Limit Test (LL and PL) and Direct Shear Test; Task 2: Detail Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Sanitary Design and Estimate: The consultant had collected the data of specified monasteries for which damage assessment has been undertaken by the project; Carried out field survey of specified sites and prepared topographic map with contour interval of 0.25m; Prepared design, drawings and specification following National Building codes as well as IS codes for specified monasteries considering Ancient Monument Preservation Act. 2064; Prepared architectural drawings and 3D views for the structures; Structural analysis and design for the structure as required by the prevailing codes rules and regulations, Prepared sanitary and electrical design and drawings for the structure as required by the prevailing codes, rules and regulations; Prepared detailed quantity estimate of each monastery and detailed cost estimate; Detailed cost estimate prepared based on the respective approved district rate;
