Preparation of Integrated Development Plan and Programmed for four VDCs at VDC Level (Gothatar, Imadol, Ichangu Narayan & Goldhunga VDCs)

Project Description

The proposed Integrated Development Plans and Programme for urbanizing VDCs are envisioned to become a self contained planned settlements rendering a fine balance between urban fabric and nature that suffices primarily the residential, agricultural, recreation and services needs and avoid contradiction in land uses of VDC and municipal areas. The opportunity to check urban sprawl and manage future urban growth remains as one of the most beneficial aspect of the plan. This is expected to significantly mitigate the adverse and environmental impact on nearby settlements.

The KVTDC has with this objective carried out the preparation of IDP for the VDCs surrounding Kathmandu Valley each year. Within this plan, for the fiscal year 2062/63 the four VDCs of Gothatar, Imadol, Ichangu Narayan & Goldhunga VDCs of Kathmandu and Lalitpur District are been selected.

Assignment Description

Study all of existing relevant reports and documents, local self governance Act/Town Development Act and Village profiles/related documents. • Collect primary data for the VDC areas including socio-economic data • Prepare village profile of 4 VDCs • Identify main income Sources of the VDCs and potential resource. • Identify developable land, its constrains & opportunities • Identify and mobilize local resources & strengthen the capabilities of VDC to ensure the sustainability of the program. • List of completed project with related organization in last 3 year within the VDCs • Prepare conceptual building bye-laws • Identify the Issues, Problems & local people's needs by conducting socio-economic house hold survey, Conduct, Workshop among VDC level • Prepare Integrated Development Plans and Programs for 4 VDCs keeping in view its needs, opportunities & constraints, by conserving and managing natural as well as cultural environment. Prioritizing and allocating necessary budgets for the proposed short-term, mid-term and long-term plans and programs.
