Project Description

In the context of the growing population and increasing urbanization, to carry on with the planned development of the urban areas, to provide basic services and facilities to the people by maintaining uniformity and coordination in the implementation of physical development planning, to conserve natural resources, historical and religious sites and monuments, cultural and environmental heritages, The parliament has proposed the present Act.

Assignment Description

To carry on with the integrated urban development on any part of the Kingdom of Nepal. • To determine the land use area for urban development and to provide the basic services and facilities on that area by determining the population density of the area. • To guide, according to the necessity and utility, while conducting any activities, which affect the physical development of any area. • To encourage and conduct activities related to physical development in a coordinated manner for public health, security, economic benefits and equal opportunities to people. • To determine the expected nature and design of any private and public development works to be carried out in future. • To determine activities for planned urban development within the stipulated deadline and in coordination with the governmental policy those are performed by the private and governmental organizations. • To provide information, details or statistics to governmental organizations while making decisions regarding to any plans, programs and investments. • To prepare standards for providing direction to private sector development efforts and land use pattern. • To carry on other activities necessary to fulfill the objectives.
