Rehabilitation and Recovery from Nepal Earthquake-The GCP Survey, Field Verification and Field Completion Work in Kathmandu Valley

Project Description

The Government of Nepal has requested the Government of Japan for technical cooperation in accordance with the recovery and reconstruction from earthquake. Based on this the project called “The project on Rehabilitation and Recovery from Nepal Earthquake” has been assigned by JICA. The work is majorly composed of following covering 721 sqkm on the site.

• Ground Control Point (GCP) Survey
Postmarking: 12 GCPs
GPS Observation: 12 GCPs
Leveling: Approximately 200 km by Differential Leveling
• Field Verification
• Field Completion

Assignment Description

The task carried out by the consultant included • Ground Control Point GCP) Survey: Postmarking: Identifiable point on the map or image are marked and selected in the site as a GCP GPS Plan: GPS observation: Horizontal control of GCP observed by GPS static method and calculated basis of GCP survey specification Levelling: Vertical control of GCP observed by Differential Levelling and calculated on basis of GCP Survey • Field Verification: Features: All the features and annotations specified are verified and identified in the site, and acquired the information of the category and the position and the position recorded in the handheld GPS Annotation List: The acquired information from field verification shall be finalized in the digital format list in MS excel format) • Field Completion The verification feature, re-verification or unidentified feature shall be specified by the expert after editing work. Final Report shall be presented in digital format.
