Many road agencies from various countries are giving more emphasis on meeting road users’ expectations and therefore measure different users’ satisfaction over time. The Roads Board Nepal (RBN), for the first time in Nepal, conducted the Road Users’ Satisfaction Survey (RUSS) to evaluate the level of satisfaction from the road users’ point of view, which is helpful in revising policies and future programmes oriented towards service delivery to the users rather than focusing only on improvement of technical aspects at large, and intends to incorporate the issues raised in this Study in its future plans and programmes.
The study goal is to help improve road-transport outcomes in the Country by giving senior management in the GON and road-sector line-agencies an insight into the issues and concerns raised by road-users of the network and thereby influencing future strategic and operational decision including project/program formulation.
The specific objectives of the Study was to:
• Ellicit views on public perceptions of current road/transport sector outcomes; GON/road line agencies’ (district offices and central offices) performance & government policies;
• Document the views in a comprehensible format suitable for comparison overtime; and
• Present the finding of the survey to senior decision-makers in GON/related agencies and stakeholders, users and general public.
