Project Description

The study covers the possibility of crop diversification in the project area of Kamala (Dhanusha District) and Patharaiya (Kailai District) Irrigation System and identifies factors impeding the irrigated agriculture outputs, particularly on aspects of crop diversification and farm income of the beneficiary farmers.

Assignment Description

Identify the potential cropping pattern in relation to higher income. • Identify the pocket area for crops in relation to water availability and soil condition. • Assess the probability of the selected farming. • Assess the institutional constraints and suggest viable solutions supporting the adoption of the envisaged crop diversification pattern • Recommend the selected high value crop in the command area. • Socio-economic survey through household survey and Focus Group Discussion. • Collection and analysis of agricultural data.
