Total project cost was US$ 64.4 million and it was implemented from 2000-2007.

It also included additional experimentation on pavement trials with various low cost bituminous surfacing as option to low trafficked gravel roads in the hills. The road works were executed under two ICB civil works contracts (value NRs 200 million). The assignment also included feasibility study for upgrading of Mirchaiya-Katari-Sunkoshi Road (72.7 km) to all weather feeder roads standard with low cost sealed gravel with DBST and Otta seal; and IEE of Michaiya-Katari-Sunkoshi Road and Update IEE and Specific EMAP of Dadeldhura-Patan-Satbhanjh Road (53.5 km).
