USAID/Feed the Future (FTF) Knowledge-based Integrated Sustainable Agriculture in Nepal (KISAN – II) Project. – FY 2019 Annual Survey

Project Description

USAID’s Knowledge-based Integrated Sustainable Agriculture and Nutrition (KISAN) project works with the Government of Nepal (GoN) to sustainably improve food security and increase incomes through integrated agriculture, nutrition, and sanitation activities. The present assignment consists of Annual Results survey of the activities conducted by KISAN in 2018, in 23 project districts, in western, mid-western and far-western districts of Nepal.

Assignment Description

The details of the assignment conducted by the Consultant is : • Develop Data Entry program in Survey Solutions (WB developed CAPI Platform) • Training of Supervisors and Enumerators • Pre-test of the questionnaire • Total of 1860 households surveyed in the KISAN II VDCs (93 VDCs) • Data Entry of 1860 Household Questionnaires in Survey Solutions • Summarization of the Data Output into the following : • Gross margin per hectare of selected product • Total quantity of targeted nutrient-rich value chain commodities set aside for home consumption by direct beneficiary producer households • Value of agricultural and rural loans • Number of hectares of land under improved technologies or management practices as a result of USG assistance • Number of farmers and others who have applied improved technologies or management practices as a result of USG assistance • Value of incremental sales (collected at farm-level) attributed to FTF implementation • Value of new private sector investment in the agriculture sector or food chain leveraged by FTF implementation • Number of private enterprises, producers organizations, water users associations, women’s groups, trade and business associations and community-based organizations (CBOs) that applied improved technologies or management practices as a result of USG assistance (RiA).
